You all know Electric Boogaloo (it’s the movie that Footloose promised us). Now meet Electric Kegaloo. That’s the nickname for the Best of the Midwest 2, an anniversary party/celebration of Midwest breweries which returns to Bier Station (120 E Gregory) Saturday. You can check out Torn Label Brewing Company’s brews, Perennial Artisan Ales’ Abraxas (made with ancho chiles, cacao nibs and cinnamon), Boulevard Za’Tart, Martin City Brewing Company’s Brandy Barrel-Aged Triple, and Mother’s Brewing Company’s Making Trouble amarillo-hopped double IPA. Here’s the tap list. The doors open at 11 a.m.

The Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors Holiday Brunch is today from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Broadway Jazz Club (3601 Broadway). The brunch benefits the Young Jazz Masters program from the KCJA. Listen to members of the Young Jazz Masters’ ensemble while enjoying brunch and sipping on bloody mary’s or mimosas. Tickets are $45 at the door.

Don’t let Christmas go. Parisi cafes are serving peppermint mochas that you can top with vanilla bean whipped cream or a house made marshmallow. They’ve also got egg nog lattes for those who nog.

Although they need to serve nothing beyond their Old Fashioned, the Westport Cafe and Bar (419 Westport Road) has a new cocktail menu. They reopen, after a holiday for Christmas, today at 4 p.m. We are a city lacking in hot toddys (if you find one, drop us a note on Twitter @recommenddaily), but you can get a slightly different spin (and the same warming effect) with the Hot Buttered Rum — a cocktail with dark rum, aged rum, spiced vanilla butter and hot cider.

While you’re in Westport, you can check out Port Fonda’s (4141 Pennsylvania) new lunch menu. The Cemita Poblana brings together pork milanesa, La Quercia prosciutto, chihuahua cheese, and escabeche mayo on a Farm to Market sesame seed egg bun. The Pozole Verde will wake you up with a spicy tomatillo broth, pork marinated in green chiles, hominy, and a fried farm egg.
