Yes, you are readers, because you’re here reading this sentence. Wild, right? If ever there was a wheelhouse event for you — it’s Booktoberfest. What is that delightfully named idea, you ask? The Recommended Daily and the Young Friends of the Kansas City Public Library are hosting a series of mini brewery tours featuring Cinder Block Brewery, Crane Brewing, Rock & Run Brewery and the KC Bier Company, inside…the…library (the Central branch at 14 W 10th Street).
This Friday, October 10, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., brewers from the four area microbreweries will be talking about the history of their operations and letting you sample their beers. You’ll be in small groups, so you can ask them questions or just sip and listen. [And if you’re wondering, yes, the Royals’ game will be on televisions at the event so you don’t have to miss a thing.]
You’ll also get to enjoy bites from the Farm to Market Bread Co., Cosentino’s Downtown Market, Milwaukee Delicatessen Co. and Swoon Cookies. Tickets are $35 or two for $50. They include a commemorative glass and the proceeds benefit the Young Friends of the Kansas City Public Library. You can check-in as soon as 6:30 p.m.[We’ve also got two tickets we’re giving away. Check out our Twitter Feed, @RecommendDaily, for the details.]
