Should we just go ahead and call it #BlueDecember? The Boulevard Brewing Company releases Crown Town Ale on Tuesday, December 16. The brew, honoring the Kansas City Royals’ run to the World Series, will only be available in the Kansas City area.

Boulevard is making a habit of celebrating the success of KC sports teams. This past June, they released Sporting Kansas City Championship Ale to celebrate the local soccer side’s 2013 MLS Cup win. If you want to sample that Saison-style ale and meet Sporting players (Jon Kempin and Kevin Ellis), the brewery is hosting a meet-and-greet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight (December 11) at the Dry Goods Store (412 Nichols Road) — a holiday pop-up on the Plaza.

Crown Town Ale is a golden Blonde ale with citrus notes courtesy of orange peel and Lemon Drop hops. Boulevard produced approximately 3,000 cases of the beer that will only be available in 750ml bottles.
