Don’t go looking for Boulevard’s Grainstorm Black Rye IPA bottles this morning. The bottles, originally slated for release today, will be on store shelves next Tuesday, March 18.

“It was a miscommunication between us and our distributor,” says Boulevard Marketing Communications Manager Julie Weeks of the new launch date.

The Smokestack Series beer will be on tap starting next Monday as planned. In other Boulevard news, the lineup for the next iteration of the Sample Packs has been announced with ESB and Ginger-Lemon Radler being paired with Unfiltered Wheat and Single-Wide IPA. The new 12-packs will appear in May, replacing the current mix of Mid-Coast IPA and Westside Rye (which was bundled with Unfiltered Wheat and 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat). The idea for the sample pack is to pair two tasting room beers with year-round offerings.

“It’s a way for the brewers to get out something that we’re excited about to more people,”┬áBoulevard brewer Jeremy Danner says. “We see the sample packs like the Smokestack series. It’s important to keep things fresh. Both the Mid-Coast and the Rye will be retired, but I could see the Mid-Coast coming back in the future.”

The ESB is currently available in the brewery’s tasting room, while the Radler should be back on later this week. [Pro tip: The tap room gets keg deliveries on Wednesdays for those who have a beer they don’t want to miss.]
