The first Cheddar’s opened in Arlington, Texas, in 1979. The chain has expanded to more than 150 restaurants in 28 states over the past 25 years. There are two other area locations at 11865 W. 95th St. in Overland Park, Kansas, and 4675 South Bass Pro Drive, Independence, Missouri.

In 2012, Cheddar’s was cited as having the top-rated food, top-rated decor/facilites and top overall in the full-service category of Zagat’s annual Fast-Food Survey. Cheddar’s was also in the news recently as Khadijah Muhammad, a waitress at a location in Knoxville, Tennessee, received a $1,075 tip on a $29 bill.

The new Cheddar’s is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. The phone number is 816-781-8958.
