Cookies & Beer — the event from Recommended Daily that spawned a cookbook (and a national trend) — is back for a third year at Bier Station (120 E Gregory Boulevard) on Saturday, March 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. And this time, it’s personal. Well, not personal. But definitely chillier. A lot chillier.
We’ve brought you cookies and beer pairings. Now, we’re going to bring you cookies and beer paired together. Christopher Elbow and Glace are making beer ice cream that will be sandwiched between two cookies from Dolce Bakery. That’s right. It’s Cookies & Beer ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream will be made with Boulevard Brewing Company’s Bourbon Barrel Quad, while Dolce is creating a brown sugar/brown butter cookie to help accent the creamy vanilla notes in the sandwich center.
