Corner Bakery Cafe will open in Corbin Park on Monday

cornerbakery-031414The Corner Bakery Cafe is just about to open on a new corner. The Texas-based chain unveils its latest area outpost Monday at 6271 W. 135th St. in Overland Park’s Corbin Park development.

The restaurant, near the intersection of 135th and Metcalf, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The eggs are all scrambled — available with or without the yolk — and in a wide swath of paninis and scrambles. They have salads, pasta dishes and a bakery case full of chocolate-studded pastries. To celebrate the new store, the first 100 people through the door on Monday will get a free travel mug and free daily coffee refills for a year.

Cafe Foods, Inc., which counts Steven Barrett, Frank Westermajer, John Myller, Ronald Damiana and Wayne Glasser among its partners, has plans to open 11 cafes over the next six years in the Kansas City area. A Corner Bakery Cafe opened in Leawood’s Camelot Court development at 11705 Roe Avenue, Suite A, this past November. The new Corbin Park location will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
