This is the space where we usually tell you to strap on your seatbelt and get ready to traipse across the metro. But for the only the second time in the Recommended Daily’s history, we’re just giving you a single recommendation. Come to CRAFT. It’s 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Crown Center Plaza (2450 Grand Boulevard). General admission tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
It’s the best show, shop, eating and drinking option in the city. And it’s only for the next two days. The pop-up event that we’re throwing with Chick Events is a celebration of Kansas City. There are 85 handmade and vintage vendors (ranging from Hello Happiness Card Company to Charlie Hustle to KC Natural BBQ to Wood + Salt) on the first level along with a pair of food trucks in Werner’s on Wheels and Monk’s Roast Beef. You can also get the first drink in the city of Shatto’s newest limited edition release milk, as well as a scoop of their ice cream in a Little Freshie root beer. Satisfy your meat tooth at Local Pig or Affare or perk up with coffee from the Roasterie.
You can also attend one (or all three) of our tastings. We’ve got a Cookies & Beer Garden with Dolce Bakery’s cookies and Boulevard beer. [You can also get free samples of Grace’s Best Cookies from Whole Foods Olathe and the Lone Elm Taproom]. Dark Horse Distillery is holding a series of Meet the Distiller classes and Amigoni Urban Winery will walk you through from Grape to Glass.
Under the ice rink on the plaza, there’s eight homegrown local acts curated by the Record Machine, one of our three bars (where Ronald McDonald House Charities Kansas City volunteers will be serving Amigoni wine, Boulevard wheat and Bob’s 47, Founder’s All-Day IPA and Crispin Cider), and our artisan food pavilion with 16 vendors. Check out Brigabon Candy Co., Dragonfly Gourmet Goods, Frannie Franks, Green Dirt Farm, Hungry Monkey Party Bites, KC Canning Company, KC Food Circle, Kyla’s Cakes N Bakes, Lanmou Chocolates, Our Sassy Pantry, Savory Addictions Nuts, Smart Cookies Bakery, Sweet Kiss Brigadeiro, Vain Foods and Oasis Foods.
Parking is free. Tickets are available now. We look forward to seeing you there.
