There’s a new deli in town. Cucina della Ragazza (301 Westport Road), an Italian deli and wine bar concept developed by Laura Norris, opened on December 27 in Westport. The space at the corner of Westport and Central, which formerly housed Pryde’s and the Broadway Roasting Company, has been reborn with exposed brick walls and a stone fireplace that is the focal point of the dining room.
The menu has a Southern Italian bent with a family-style meatball grande served in a cast iron pan, spaghetti alla carbonara (gluten-free pasta is available), and Italian sausage soup. The sandwiches come as subs (meatballs and eggplant), grilled paninis (house-smoke pastrami) and sammies (Tuscan chopped liver and sliced chicken pesto). Those with a sweet tooth can decide between cheesecake, gelatto, amaretti cookies or cream puffs for dessert. Ragazza also has a full bar and serves Bloody Maria’s and bourbon-infused Bellinis for Saturday brunch.
Cucina della Ragazza is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturday. The phone number is 816-960-4744.
