Delve into coffee culture at the KC Caffeine Crawl’s After Crawl Brunch next Sunday

Make next Sunday a good morning.

Make next Sunday a good morning.

Brunch is best when you’ve got your hands wrapped around a proper cup of coffee. That’s the idea behind the After Crawl Brunch next Sunday, June 1, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the parking lot of the Black Dog Coffeehouse (12815 W 87th Street Pkwy, Lenexa). The collaborative event from The Recommended Daily and The LAB, the creators of the KC Caffeine Crawl, is free to attend with coffee drinks to sample and purchase.

The brunch takes place between day one and two of the Caffeine Crawl, which includes stops at local tea, coffee and chocolate shops. On Sunday morning, Black Dog will set up an espresso bar, bringing in baristas from around Kansas City to pull shots off Unic’s Stella di Caffe machine and creating Instagram-worthy latte art using beans from Messenger Coffee. For those who love cold brew, Alchemy Coffee of Lawrence, is hauling in Kyoto-style brews and bottled coffee for sale. And when you get hungry, step over to the Smokin’ Fresh Streetside BBQ truck. They’ll be dishing up their market egg sandwich (with or without pulled pork), quiche and an open-faced egg salad sandwich with bacon on Ibis bread.

The Lab will also be holding a raffle and event poster sale with the proceeds benefiting Coffee Kids. The brunch is open to the public, regardless of whether you have purchased a ticket for the Caffeine Crawl. If you’d like to RSVP here, please do. Then, we’ll know just how much coffee to roast.
