You win when breweries celebrate birthdays. KC Bier Co. (310 W 79th Street) is celebrating its second anniversary tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. They’ll be tapping 20 different beers tomorrow (tap list will be on Twitter), and offering tours ($10, three beer samples and a glass included) at 1 and 6 p.m.
The Minibar (3810 Broadway) is hosting the Broadway MiniBowl on Sunday, starting at 3:30 p.m. The Super Bowl watch party will feature food from neighboring Broadway Butcher Shop, including chili cheese dogs.

You don’t just run a half-marathon, you train. Get in chocolate-eating shape for Valentine’s Day as Downtown Lee’s Summit is hosting the ninth annual Chocolate Crawl for a Cause on Saturday. It begins at 12 p.m. with maps, a chocolate bar and wristband available to the first 750 participants at Got Art Gallery (18 SW Third Street). They’re asking for donations of gloves, hat, scarves or money to benefit the Lee’s Summit Social Services.
And in coming attractions, a la next weekend….If you still need Valentine’s Day plans, Joe’s Kansas City is hosting a Stock, Broth, & Bowl cookbook dinner on Friday, February 12, and Rye is hosting a Beer & Cookies pairing event (w/ a cookbook included) on Saturday, February 13.
The Joe’s dinner ($65) will be at the 180 Room in Olathe, Kansas. It’s four courses, each with their own drink pairing, and passed appetizers along with a bloody bull [check out the full menu here]. The Rye event is next Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. It’s $40 for five cookies/beer pairings and a signed copy of the cookbook, Cookies & Beer.
