A little over a year after their debut at the Brookside Farmers Market, Heirloom Bakery & Hearth will be opening their permanent space at 401 E 63rd Street next weekend. With the help of the Utilitarian Workshop, Kate & Scott Meinke have radically transformed the former auto repair shop, into a rustic bakery space.
The couple, who had been baking at the Farm to Table kitchen in the City Market, have built a following at Brookside and through their savory and sweet Pop-Tarts at Thou Mayest in the Crossroads. They’ll be baking fresh bread, biscuits and cookies. And they’ll continue to sell Saturdays at the Brookside Farmers Market.
Heirloom will have its grand opening Saturday, May 9, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.[Image via Instagram: Utilitarian Workshop]
