The man who just can’t quit Hot Pockets is coming back to Kansas City and he’s ready to dish on the whole universe of eating and drinking. On November 2, Rainy Day Books will be hosting comedian Jim Gaffigan, who has penned a new book, Food: A Love Story, about what goes in his mouth.
Food has always featured prominently in Gaffigan’s act — he’s explained how Waffle House “is just a gas station bathroom that sells waffles,” and calls bacon bits, “the fairy dust of the food world.” But as he told The Indianapolis Star last month, “I’m not a foodie. I’m an eatie.” This is his second book. His first, Dad is Fat, was a New York Times bestseller in 2013. [You can read an excerpt of Food: A Love Story here]
Gaffigan will chat with Rainy Day Books founder Vivien Jennings on Sunday, November 2, in the Unity Temple on the Plaza (707 W 47th Street) at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $26, which includes one autographed book and two admission tickets.
