The spinach dip has arrived in Kansas City, Kansas. Jose Pepper’s Border Grill & Cantina (1847 Village West Parkway, Suite K131) opens today in the Legends Outlets.

The first Jose Pepper’s (10316 Metcalf, Overland Park) opened in 1988 and there are now 13 locations in Kansas and Missouri. Jose Pepper’s added a new Northland location this August in the former The Cafe space at 4125 North Mulberry Drive in Briarcliff Village.

For those who have never been, most tables start with espinaca con queso — a jalapeno cheese and spinach dip served with tortilla chips. After that, you can dive into a burrito topped with chile sauce, a chicken and avocado enchilada or a combo platter with tamales, tostadas or crispy tacos. Happy Hour, or “Jose Hour,” as it known at the restaurant, is from 3 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close daily. During “Jose Hour,” (which launched this July) house margaritas, 16 oz. domestic or imported drafts, crispy beef or chicken tacos are all $2.

Jose Pepper’s in the Legends (next to Cavender’s Western Outfitters) is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The phone number is 913-328-0770.
