Los Compas Mexican Restaurant has closed in Liberty

loscompas122713Los Compas Mexican Restaurant (5 East Kansas Street) has closed in downtown Liberty. The restaurant opened in the former Hardware Cafe on the Square in April of 2007. Los Compas announced the closing on its Facebook page last week:

Sorry for the late notice, however, we wanted to let you all know that after nearly 7 years in business, we have decided to close our doors. It has been a pleasure serving each of you, and who knows, perhaps we will have the opportunity to do so again in the future

For those craving a fajita salad or burrito (Los Compas had a myriad of uses for the fajita), the Ayala family will continue to operate its two other area locations at 18011 E. U.S. Highway 24 in Independence and 9055 E. 350 Highway in Raytown. They offer lunch specials, Monday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that range from the Speedy Gonzalez ($5.75, one taco, one enchilada and rice or beans) to the huevos con chorizo ($6.99, two eggs scrambled with chorizo, served with rice, beans and tortillas) to the lunch fajita ($7.75).
