The Martin City Brewing Company (500 E 135th Street), which opened in June of 2011, is finally ready to start brewing their own beer. Martin City Pizza & Tap (410 E 135th Street) — the wood-fired pizza and microbrewery concept from the team behind the restaurant: Chancie and Amanda Adams and Kara and Matt Moore — will open on Wednesday, February 12.
The pizza is Neopolitan-style, cooked in a stone oven. Those who want a more adventurous pie might opt for the Bacon & Eggs (made with bacon, canadian bacon, eggs, sage, garlic alfredo, ricotta and pecorino) or the Salmon (pesto, salmon, capers, sunflower kernels, tomato, arugula, ricotta and pecorino). The newest microbrewery in Kansas City (the Kansas City Bier Company opens the day before in Waldo) will have a 15-barrel system and brews crafted by Nick Vaughn, the former owner and brewmaster with Doodle Brewing.
