Saki Asian Restaurant has opened in the Northland

For those who dream of eating their way across Asia but aren’t thrilled about the 15 hour plane ride, we give you the Saki Asian Restaurant (5225 NW 64th Street). Forget Asian fusion, the Northland restaurant that opened last week is nearly all of Asia.

The starters set the tone as wonton soup and miso soup are finally united on this menu. The wok dishes bring in Cantonese and Mandarin cooking, as well as Thai curry (there’s pad Thai too). Vietnamese fans can get pho — broth heaped with thin rice noodles, steak and green vegetables and herbs (bean sprouts, jalapeno and cilantro). Korean barbecue lovers can get the short ribs. The choices don’t end there. There’s a hibachi grill and a sushi bar. Saki has octopus sashimi and the caterpillar roll with barbecue eel, cream cheese, and cucumber with avocado and eel sauce.

Saki is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The phone number is 816-584-8888.
