You might need to start taking more meetings over tea. Shang Tea (2450 Grand Boulevard, Suite #106) reopened earlier this month in Crown Center in its new first floor space (go right off the escalator).

The shop has a brewing station and a small collection of wooden tables. The tea bar has white, black and green options, as well as experimental blends — recent mixes have been punctuated by ginger and cinnamon. A mug of tea will be $3 or $3.50 and, like all of the Midwest, comes with free refills (of water).

The tea service itself will slow your day down in a pleasant way. The ceramic mugs have a built-in strainer, which is removed and placed in the upside down lid (at left in the picture above). Your server will also give you a sand-filled timer that lets you know when your tea has steeped for one, three or five minutes. Tea is available to go too. For javanauts looking to expand their universe, Shang Tea is a stop on the spring edition of the Caffeine Crawl slated for Saturday, May 31.

Shang Tea is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The phone number is 816-421-2588.
