The Northland is getting some snow. Snow & Company (1815 Wyandotte Street), the artful frozen cocktail bar, is opening a second location in the Gladstone 18 development at 504 NE 70th Street.
“This was a great opportunity with a lot more space in a great area,” owner Jerry Nevins says. “The redevelopment they’re planning on doing down there caught our eye. It’s a similar environment to where we are in the Crossroads with entrepreneurs and tech folks.”
The Snow & Company in downtown Gladstone will be in a 4,400 square foot space with a wrap-around patio.
“It’ll be an expansion of the concept,” Nevins says. “We’re definitely going to do lunch and dinner service. There will be lounge style seating in the front with a more traditional dining space in the middle and a private dining room in back.”
Alex Staab, the chef at Bella Napoli, is consulting on the menu for both locations. He’s currently spending a few nights a week at Snow & Company in the Crossroads, where they’ll be introducing new dishes in a few weeks. There’s also some new hot drinks for winter, including a Riki Tiki Toddy made with Hugo Tea’s Earl Grey tea and Bombay Sapphire gin.
The Gladstone location is expected to open this summer, to coincide with The Heights at Linden Square, an adjacent apartment and mixed retail complex. Nevins also plans to open a third outpost in downtown Overland Park in 2015.[Image via Facebook: Snow & Company]
