Forget your laundry. Your quarters have a higher purpose. The 403 Club has opened in its new home. The Strawberry Hill bar, with arguably the finest assorted of well-maintained pinball machines in the metro, is now located at 614 Reynolds Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas.
Owner Artie Scholes opened the original location at 403 North 5th Street in 2011. The old club closed with a hurrah — hosting the Kansas State Pinball Championship on Saturday, February 8. Scholes has spent the past 11 days moving the bar just 0.6 miles south. He told KCUR that he’s hoping to up the current lineup from seven to 10 pinball machines, in addition to continuing his tradition of hosting open Wednesday pinball tournaments.
The 403 Club has a solid collection of reasonably priced craft beer. In their old spot, they served Zims’ hot wings (Buffalo native Todd Zimmer has been making his Zims hot sauce since 2009) and if you want pizza, you got a couple options (Minksy’s, Caddyshack) for delivery. Even better, get to know the bartenders and they might share the pie they ordered for themselves with you.
The 403 Club is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.[Image via Facebook: The 403 Club]
