Didn’t your mother ever tell you to drink your herbs? Well if she didn’t, we’re telling you now. The Herb Cocktail Party is back at the Alexander Majors Barn (8201 State Line Road) on Thursday, April 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. and we’re a sponsor. [Last year, we hosted On A Stick at the barn and had a chance to learn a bit more about the history of the adjacent Majors House].
The cocktail party helps support educational programming at the Wornall/Majors House Museums — the John Wornall House and the Alexander Majors House and Barn — and out in the community. The night will feature a tasting menu from chef Shannon Kimball, of Flavor Trade, and cocktails and mocktails prepared by members of the Kansas City Bartenders Guild.
The drinks will feature basil, lavender, rosemary and thyme — all of which is grown at the garden outside the John Wornall House (6115 Wornall Road). And if you love what you drank, you can do it the play-it-at-home version with the 37th annual Herb and Wildflower Sale on Saturday, April 25.
Tickets for the Herb Cocktail Party are $35 and available here.
