Thorne-Thomsen, Ryan & Brazeal up for The People’s Best New Chef

Food & Wine’s The People’s Best New Chef contest returns today with Story’s Carl Thorne-Thomsen looking to repeat as the winner in the Midwest region. From today through Monday, March 31, you can vote for Thorne-Thomsen, Port Fonda’s Patrick Ryan (who was also nominated last year) or Novel’s Ryan Brazeal. All three have been nominated for The People’s Best New Chef: Midwest.

There’s small bios on each chef. You can learn that Ryan has banned Zubaz pants from his kitchen, Thorne-Thomsen is addicted to Kettle Chips and Brazeal wants you to take a bite before you take a photo of his food.

Food & Wine selects 10 chefs in 10 regions [The full Midwest list is here]. Each region will have its own winner determined via Internet vote. The chef that receives the most votes overall will be named The People’s Best New Chef for 2014. This is the people’s choice companion to F&W’s annual list of the country’s top new chefs meant to recognize rising culinary stars.
