Kansas City is full of tastes and tastemakers. With Today’s Special — our new video series with KCPT’s Flatland — we recently had the chance to explore just a few of the drinks and eats that require your full gustatory attention. Over the course of five weeks (this is week two), we’ll take you inside the process behind some amazing bites and sips during your Thursday lunch hour. Watch the video above and then pop by Flatland for the back story.
This week is all about the Hop! Toddy at Oddly Correct. It’s a wild cold brew drink made with hop tea (which imparts hints of beer without the alcohol) and served in a brown bottle wrapped in a brown bag with a shop-made letterpress print. This drink packs a pop.
In past episodes, we dived into the Hemingway Daiquiri at Julep with Christopher Elbow, pork tenderloin sliders at The Rieger, Boulevard’s beer backpack at The K and the Z-man at Joe’s Kansas City. We hope you enjoy Today’s Special.
