Prairiefire is about to get on a roll. Wasabi Sushi Bar (5621 West 135th Street) will open in the Overland Park development on Tuesday, May 6.
The sushi spot serves more than 50 rolls (the crazy roll pictured above has tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber, avocado and a spicy sauce) and offers tempura, teriyaki and udon noodles for those who are not raw fish enthusiasts. And they’ve got a boat called the Wasabi Ni, where two people can eat their way through two rolls and a dozen pieces of nigiri and sashimi. The sake comes cold and hot or, in the case of the downtown St. Louis location, infused with pineapple.
The 11-year-old chain out of St. Louis has eight locations (Overland Park will be the ninth) in four states. Wasabi in Prairiefire will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday for lunch, and from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday for dinner. They’ll also have happy hour specials from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.[Image via Facebook: Wasabi Sushi Bar]
